What can we do to stay healthy?


The theme of this term is “Healthy Living”. We have been talking about how to stay healthy by eating fruits and vegetables. We have also talked about different sports and how to exercise to stay healthy.


I find it very hard to stay healthy. When I was a little boy I was very lazy, and I didn’t do any exercise. I also love to eat, and one of my favourite foods is dessert. This made me very fat.

 After coming to Hong Kong, I have got fatter and less healthy. There are too many delicious foods in Hong Kong! I can’t stop eating! I knew I had to stop, and I knew I had to start being healthy.

 

 
I started to run. At the beginning it was really hard. Running made me very tired, and not eating the foods I liked was very hard. But I said to myself, “I will never give up!” I entered myself into a 10 kilometre running competition in Clearwater Bay. 10 kilometres is the same as 10,000 metres!

 
It was the day of the race, and I was amazed by the beauty of Clearwater Bay. I was very nervous at the start, there were over 1000 people running in the competition! It was a long race, and near the end of the race I felt very tired. But I never gave up; I kept a smile on my face and carried on running. When I saw the finish line, I ran the fastest I could. I crossed the finish line with a time of 1hour and 9minutes. Even though I finished 208th in my race, I was very happy.

 
 
 
 
I had a really happy time at Clearwater Bay, everyone around me was smiling and we were all happy for each other. I feel healthier now, but most important is, I feel happier. If I can do it, you can do it too! Take your first step to a healthier life!
